Modern Dance at the Ballet School Frankfurt

Course Overview: Our Ballet School Frankfurt is excited to offer a new Modern Dance course designed specifically for children aged 6-10 and teenagers aged 11-16. This course is for anyone who wants to discover or deepen their passion for dance and dive into the dynamic world of Modern Dance.

Course Content: In this course, participants will learn the basic techniques of Modern Dance, which promote body awareness, musicality, and expressiveness. The course content includes:

  1. Basics of Modern Dance: Introduction to the technique and movement forms of Modern Dance, such as floor work, swing techniques, and improvisation.
  2. Body Awareness and Coordination: Exercises to improve posture, flexibility, and agility, helping students better understand and control their bodies.
  3. Creative Expression: Encouraging individual creativity through free improvisation and choreographic tasks, allowing students to find their own dance voice.
  4. Musicality: Developing a keen sense of rhythm and music, which is essential for dance expression.
  5. Group Work and Choreography: Participants will work together on small choreographies that foster teamwork and collaboration within the group.

Why this course is important and interesting: Modern Dance is not only an exciting and versatile dance form but also an important building block for the holistic development of children and teenagers. By participating in this course, young dancers can:

  • Strengthen creativity and self-confidence: Modern Dance provides a space where children and teenagers can express their emotions and ideas artistically, boosting self-confidence and personal growth.

    • From Frankfurt am Main:
      • Take the A661 towards Oberursel.
      • Switch to the A5 and then to the A661 towards Oberursel/Bad Homburg.
      • Exit the A661 at “Oberursel Nord.”
      • Follow the L3004 towards Kronberg im Taunus.
      • In Kronberg, turn onto Frankfurter Straße and follow the signs to Heinrich-Winter-Straße.
    • Parking: There are parking spaces near Heinrich-Winter-Straße, but they may be limited. Check in advance for availability.

        • Take the S4 S-Bahn line towards Kronberg.

      • There are bus lines that stop near Heinrich-Winter-Straße. Check the exact connections via the RMV app or website.

    • If you are already in Kronberg, you can easily reach Heinrich-Winter-Straße on foot or by bicycle. Kronberg is a relatively small town, and many places are easily accessible on foot or by bike.

      • Take the “Frankfurt-Eckenheim” exit.

      • The Adickesallee is located near the Frankfurt Police Headquarters and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University.
    • Parking: We have two customer parking spaces in the courtyard. There are also some parking garages nearby as well as public parking spaces along the street.
  • By Public Transport:
    • By U-Bahn:
      • U-Bahn Line U5: Get off at the “Musterschule” station. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to Adickesallee.
    • By S-Bahn:
      • S-Bahn Lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S8, S9: Get off at the “Frankfurt West” or “Frankfurt Hauptwache” station and take one of the U-Bahn lines mentioned above from there.
    • By Bus:
      • There are several bus lines that stop nearby, especially lines 32 and 36. Stops like “Polizeipräsidium” or “Friedberger Platz” are near Adickesallee.
  • On Foot or by Bicycle:
    • If you are already nearby, you can easily reach Adickesallee on foot or by bicycle. It is a central location in Frankfurt, and the street is well connected to the bike path network.

What's the best way to get to us?

    • From Frankfurt am Main:
      • Take the A661 towards Bad Homburg.
      • Exit the A661 at “Bad Homburg” and follow the B455 towards Bad Homburg.
      • Follow the signs towards the city center and then to Gunzostraße.
    • Parking: There are 20 parking spaces belonging to the Gunzocenter, and they are free of charge! Note that if you park in the REWE parking lot, you will need a parking disc!
  2. By Public Transport:
    • By S-Bahn:
      • From Frankfurt Central Station:
        • Take the S5 S-Bahn towards Friedrichsdorf and get off at Bad Homburg station.
        • From there, you can either take a bus or walk about 15-20 minutes to Gunzostraße.
    • By U-Bahn:
      • From Frankfurt:
        • Take the U2 U-Bahn line towards Bad Homburg-Gonzenheim.
        • Get off at the final stop “Gonzenheim.”
        • From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to Gunzostraße 9.
