Ballet School for Children: Enrollment for Boys and Girls

Welcome to our ballet school, where children aged 6 to 13 can discover their passion for dance! Our program is designed for both boys and girls and provides a creative and supportive environment where every child can flourish.

We follow a specially designed curriculum for recreational classes, based on the renowned Vaganova method. This allows children to build a solid foundation in ballet while expressing themselves creatively and playfully.

Enrollment is open year-round, and we are excited to welcome new talents. Additionally, our students have the opportunity to perform on stage every year, showcasing their progress in front of an audience. This not only boosts their confidence but also makes dancing an especially thrilling experience!

What are ballet styles?

Dance classes are a wonderful opportunity for children aged 6 to 13 to express themselves physically, unleash their creativity, and improve their motor skills. At this age, children are full of energy and curiosity, making them ideal candidates for various dance styles. Ballet often forms the foundation for many other dance styles and is an excellent choice to begin the journey into the world of dance.

Ballet as a Foundation

Ballet is a classical dance style that teaches not only grace and precision but also discipline and body control. Through regular ballet training, children develop strong muscles, flexibility, and a deep understanding of rhythm and music. It lays the foundation upon which other dance styles can be built. Once children have learned the basics of ballet, they are well-prepared to explore other dance classes.

Fit for Kids (Fitness and Stretching)

Fit for Kids is a class tailored to the physical needs of children. It combines fitness exercises and stretching to improve children’s overall fitness and flexibility. This course is particularly valuable as a complement to ballet, as it strengthens muscles and enhances flexibility, which is highly beneficial in ballet training. Children learn in a playful way the importance of keeping their bodies fit and healthy, which also supports their dance performance.

Modern Dance

Modern dance is an excellent complement to ballet. While ballet often follows strict rules, modern dance allows children to dance more freely and expressively. It explores movements that go beyond traditional ballet forms, fostering children’s creativity and improvisational skills. Children who have already trained in ballet can learn in modern dance how to use their bodies more versatilely and dynamically.

Character dance

Character dance is another excellent extension of ballet. It is a form of dance that draws on folklore and folk dances from various cultures. This style enhances rhythm and expressiveness as it often includes narrative elements and characteristic movements. For children already familiar with ballet, character dance offers a way to broaden their horizons and explore different cultural dance styles while continuing to develop their technical skills.

Recommendations for Dance Classes

For children aged 6 to 13, it is recommended to start with ballet to build a strong foundation. After one to two years of ballet training, they can begin to attend modern dance or character dance classes to expand their skills. Fit for Kids can be started at any time alongside ballet to promote physical fitness and flexibility. Through this combination of courses, children not only develop comprehensive dance techniques but also a love for movement and expression through dance.

The ballet courses at BalletBoutique not only provide high-quality dance training but also offer a wealth of opportunities to promote the physical and personal development of children. Our lovingly designed courses, professional instructors, and the variety of additional offerings make us the ideal choice for your child’s ballet education.
